Sexual Health and the Female Healthspan
Sexual health changes across the female healthspan, shaped by hormonal, vascular, psychological and relational factors.
It is a normal part of aging — and one medicine has under-studied. Female Reserve brings it inside the healthspan, not outside it.
What changes
Desire, arousal, comfort and response can shift with age. For many women the changes are meaningful; for others, minimal. There is no single 'normal.'
Why
PROBABLEEstrogen affects tissue and blood flow; testosterone may affect desire. But sleep, mood, relationships and stress matter as much as hormones — often more.
Evidence state
Probable that hormonal change contributes to changes in desire and tissue comfort. The full picture is individual and not reducible to any one hormone.
What can help
Lubrication, local estrogen, pelvic floor work, or addressing sleep and mood — the right answer depends on the woman, and deserves a clinician who listens.
Not a single problem
Sexual health belongs inside female healthspan, not as a separate department. It connects to sleep, mood, endocrine health and midlife health at once.
