Female Healthspan

Female Reserve studies female healthspan as one interconnected system — how ovarian and endocrine aging interact with brain, bone, muscle, metabolism, cardiovascular health, sleep, skin, energy and sexual health across a woman's life.

We explore how changes across hormones, brain, bone, muscle, metabolism, cardiovascular health, skin, sleep, energy and sexual health interact over time, treating them as one connected system rather than separate departments.

What female healthspan means

Female healthspan is the capacity of a woman's body and mind to function well across life — not only the absence of disease. It spans the whole life, not only fertility or menopause, and the changes that define midlife begin years before menopause and continue long after.

One connected system, not departments

Medicine has studied women's bodies in silos — gynecology here, cardiology there, psychiatry elsewhere. But the systems talk to each other. Ovarian and endocrine change is one node in a network, not the origin of everything downstream. Female aging is one connected process, and treating it as anything less misses the whole picture.

What we study

  • Ovarian and endocrine aging
  • Brain and cognition
  • Bone and muscle
  • Metabolism and cardiovascular health
  • Sleep and energy
  • Skin
  • Sexual health

Evidence and lived experience

Scientific evidence tells us what has been measured. Women's lived experience helps reveal what still needs to be understood. Female Reserve listens closely to the changes women themselves notice over time, alongside the research.

Evidence states

ESTABLISHED · PROBABLE · EMERGING · UNKNOWN

Every scientific statement we publish carries its evidence state — established, probable, emerging or unknown. It is the discipline the category often avoids, and the reason a scientist can stand next to this brand.
